Laura Harrell is the Assistant Dance Director of the Travis Belles Dance Team and Travis dance program. Prior to joining the staff at Travis High School, she attended Sam Houston State University. She graduated suma cum laude in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance. While at SHSU, she performed as a member of the SHSU Dance Company in various faculty and graduate concerts. During her time at Sam Houston, she was awarded the SHSU Dance and Theatre Scholarship, the SHSU Dance Leadership award in 2008 and 2009, the SHSU Dance Service Award in 2008, and the Excellence in Service for the College of Arts and Sciences “Sammy” award in 2009. She was also President, Vice President, and Secretary of Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honor Society. 

Laura has worked with the Belles the past couple of years choreographing award winning officer dances, ensembles, and solos. She has been dancing since the age of 3 with Amy DuFour, owner of DuFour Dance Centre. She was also a proud member of the Austin Angels, and was colonel of the Angels in 2005.  She is so excited and honored to be part of the THS staff and looks forward to a great year!
