"Tally-Ho!"

Fall 2011 Marching Season Musical selections include:

     Dies Irae by Verdi

     Light Cavalry Overture by Suppe'

Down a Country Lane by Copland

     Hunting Wabbits by Goodwin

"March" from Symhonic Metamorphosis by Hindemith

Marching Season officially kicks off the first day of Fish Camp (although there are some exciting preludes like the unveiling of the show, drum major auditions, and drum line auditions!) in June. The season really gets rolling into full swing when Summer Band Camp starts at the beginning of August.

When school starts, marching rehearsals are 3:30 - 5:30 school days. We normally take Mondays off. See the calendar for detailed rehearsal dates.

Rehearsals are extremely important and student are expected to attend. We ask that parents make every effort to arrange appointments for the students on days that we do not rehearse.

We are limited by UIL to 8 hours of rehearsal time per week. That excludes a 1 hour run through rehearsal prior to contest performances and games. many weeks we schedule more than the 8 hours. This is to allow us flexibility near major performances to deal with weather situations. We will not exceed 8 hours.
